Am I running too much if I run 9 miles a day?
as a runner myself i would say in my personal opinion that u prolly started off with to much. u need to work urself up. start small and go bigger. it can also make u not be able to preform as well. a close friend of mine in high school was use to running 5-9 a day, and then added another 10-15 more miles on top of that because he started training with a college friend of ours and he over worked his self and hit his peak to early and did terrible in the following season. and it ended up doing something to his legs and back so he didnt get to run the last half of the season. and the pain is ur body telling u to take a break. this pain is differenet than the pain when u first start running. when u first start thats the lactic acid. its something new to ur body. this is ur body telling u to slow down and let it recover. id recommend dropping down to somewhere between 4-6 at the most for a good 2-3 months. and slowly work urself up to more miles. most runners who run marathons run what ur running and then once a week run a single 18-20 mile run. but they have spend a lot of time working up to that. take it slow, and ull get there. but run 5 days a week and take the weekend off or just 2 days of the week. so ur body can repair itself and rest some. good luck
