Are the tendons in my finger damaged?

I slipped about a year ago and as I put my hand out to catch myself but I landed on the end of my "ring" finger. It didn't really hurt but it swelled up and I couldn't move it so I had an x-ray, before I had it the doctor told me he would be amazed if it wasn't broken, I thought it was aswell but the x-ray showed everything to be ok. I couldn't move it for ages afterwards and the lower joint is bigger than the one on the other hand and the tip always aches. It starts to ache if I dont bend it every couple of minutes which makes a loud clicking sound. Today I knocked the knuckle and I couldn't move it for a few hours and now I can hardly move it. I thought it could be nerve ot tendon damage. What does everybody else think?
